Sean was born and raised in Kansas City, MO, and attended college in Denver, where he sold forklifts for three years as the top salesperson for the top dealership in the state of Colorado. He returned to Kansas City in 1982 to work with his father at the Robert E. Miller Insurance Agency and quickly developed a practice focused on the insurance and benefits needs of not-for-profit organizations. Ten years later, he and his brother acquired the company. At that time, they had less than $2,000,000 in revenue and almost no profit. By the end of 2022, they had over $15,000,000 in revenue and $3,000,000 in EBITDA with over 65 employees. On January 1st of 2023, Sean passed his role of CEO to his niece, who he has been mentoring for the past five years. He continues in the capacity as Chairman at The Miller Group. Sean has been married to his wife Karen for over 40 years and have four children and one grandchild. They love to travel and enjoy tennis, golf and going to the lake where they ski and surf as often as the weather will allow.
